ScotRail, a leading railway operator in Scotland, embarked on a £1.1m project to enhance infrastructure at their Perth Railway Depot. A new canopy was constructed along the maintenance siding to facilitate train-care operations under shelter. The project spanned 24 weeks and involved intricate engineering solutions to meet ScotRail’s operational needs.
The project began with thorough planning to ensure it met ScotRail’s needs and complied with regulations. We focused on improving the depot’s infrastructure while causing minimal disruption to operations.
We prioritised upgrades to track drainage, power, water systems, and effluent tanking to enhance efficiency and sustainability. Additionally, we improved refuelling facilities, oil storage, and compressed air services to support maintenance activities.
Construction of the canopy was carried out using advanced techniques for durability and protection during maintenance operations.
Throughout the project, we maintained clear communication, prioritised safety, and conducted regular assessments to address any issues promptly.
The project was completed within 24 weeks, significantly enhancing the depot’s infrastructure and operational capabilities. Improved systems ensured smoother operations and reduced maintenance downtime. Environmental sustainability and safety measures were enhanced, and the new canopy provided essential protection during maintenance activities.
