Northern Rail engaged us to revamp the ticket office at New Pudsey Railway Station, leveraging the existing structure to create a new, more functional layout. The project also included refurbishing the passenger waiting area, enhancing staff facilities, and implementing environmental sustainability measures.
For the installation of a new ticket counter, we designed and installed a modern ticket counter that improved both the aesthetics and functionality of the station. To enhance the staff facilities, the mess area and accommodation were upgraded, providing a more comfortable and efficient working environment. The passenger amenities were significantly improved with the installation of new automatic doors and updated WC facilities, enhancing both accessibility and convenience.
In addition to these internal improvements, we enhanced the station’s exterior with aluminium cladding and new glazing, which improved both durability and visual appeal. We also updated the ventilation systems, which improved air quality and comfort for both passengers and staff. To support Northern Rail’s environmental strategy, we introduced a rainwater harvesting tank, which aligns with the station’s commitment to sustainability.
The completed project at New Pudsey Railway Station resulted in significant improvements to both passenger and staff experiences. The new ticket office and refurbished waiting area provided a more welcoming and efficient environment. Enhanced staff facilities improved working conditions, while the new automatic doors and passenger WC facilities increased accessibility and convenience. The external upgrades with aluminium cladding and glazing, along with the installation of advanced ventilation systems, contributed to the station’s modern look and feel. Moreover, the introduction of a rainwater harvesting tank underscored Northern Rail’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
