We’re committed to empowering our people, businesses and societies

And so our journey to NetZero begins...

We want to be realistic and fair. We can’t promise to be NetZero by next month. But what we can promise, is to do everything in our power to learn, educate ourselves and strive for better.

It’s a journey with the greatest destination. A destination which will help our planet, ensuring everything we do is as energy-efficiently as possible. We believe Consortia has a responsibility to protect our future generations and the environment at every opportunity.

We have pledged to:

Reduce our consumption of non-renewable resources
Whenever possible, we plan to use materials with the least environmental impact
We will prioritise the protection of the natural environment that links to our work
We will strive to keep learning and educating our team whilst supporting our stakeholders towards the success of our sustainable goals

You might be wondering what this looks like in practice. Currently, we are focusing on the following areas:

Empowering our people

Raising the level of awareness across the sustainability agenda amongst our team and providing opportunities to learn and educate ourselves.

Partnering with our stakeholders

Working closely with our supply chain, communities and contractors to develop greater awareness and reach our shared sustainable goals.

Engaging with our clients

Sharing our knowledge and synchronising our sustainable objectives with our clients, working together for long term success.

Reducing our carbon footprint

Small changes make a big impact. We have commenced our journey towards decarbonising our business.

Recycling and waste management

We are currently monitoring our waste streams to develop our waste minimisation strategy and increase recycling.

Renewable energy

We’ve switched. We believe that renewable electricity is the future of power and are proud to see our headquarters powered by 100% renewable electricity.

Nature based solutions

We’re not planting trees just yet! In 2023, we will be investing in nature to help boost biodiversity and increase climate resilience.

Social Value

Since inception, we have been proud to support our people and the communities within which we live and work. Our commitment to a dedicated social value team ensures we can continue to build on this great legacy.

Achieving NetZero is not the end. Once we’ve reached it, we’ll continue to strive for new ways of doing things and to be more efficient. Because we believe in being a force for good and using our business responsibly.
