Home » Bristol Temple Meads Station
Originally designed by renowned British Engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel; Bristol Temple Meads is the oldest station in Bristol and an important transport hub for the city.
The project was situated in the Grade I listed building on a centre island platform with access some 400 metres from the nearest offload point. With the station’s footfall being around 6.3 million, this created a challenge for the team to install a complete mechanical services package on this live mainline station.
The main plant and equipment had to be roof-mounted on structural steel frames. With no means of access for craneage, all materials were transported manually in flat pack form and rebuilt in situ at roof level.
Overall, this was a complex M&E project delivered on time and on budget. Our engineering team was highly commended by the client on completion of this challenging project.
