Harrogate Railway Station, located in North Yorkshire, serves as a vital transport hub. In response to feedback from stakeholders and with the aim of modernising facilities, Northern Rail embarked on a renovation project in collaboration with the National Station Improvement Programme which aims to enhance passenger experience by upgrading amenities and infrastructure.
Consortia was appointed by Northern Rail to execute the refurbishment works at Harrogate Railway Station. With a value of £682k and a duration of 17 weeks, the scope of work encompassed several aspects including the booking hall, waiting rooms, WCs, and concourse area.
The approach involved a comprehensive refurbishment plan, including redesign and enhancement of the main booking hall, refurbishment of waiting rooms and public toilets, and renewal of all mechanical and electrical services. This multifaceted approach aimed to revitalise the station’s infrastructure while prioritising the comfort and convenience of passengers and staff.
New and upgraded amenities introduced, including improved waiting areas, modernised toilets, enhanced lighting, and automatic doors.
