EvoDental Central Labratory

Client

EvoDental

Location

Knowsley

Project Value

£410,000

Project duration

9 Weeks

Project overview

This project involved the full conversion of an industrial starter unit into a high-specification dental manufacturing facility, incorporating both office and clinical laboratory areas. The works included the installation of complex electrical, mechanical, and data systems, designed to support sensitive laboratory operations and ensure compliance with building, fire, and electrical regulations.
All services were carefully coordinated within the laboratory environment to support operational precision and safety, alongside general building elements such as ceilings, partitions, and flooring.

Approach

Delivered on a fast-track programme with 12-hour, six-day, weeks, the project required daily collaboration with the client to resolve design queries and track progress efficiently. Working within clinical laboratory areas required careful planning to control dust, manage contamination, and ensure precise integration of sensitive and high-value equipment.
With evolving mechanical and electrical designs, value engineering solutions were applied to achieve client budget requirements without compromising compliance or operational performance. Close coordination with building control, fire officers, and specialist consultants ensured adherence to all statutory, electrical, and fire safety regulations, including:

• Health & Safety Regulations 1974
• Latest IEE Wiring Regulations (18th Edition)
• CDM Regulations and relevant British Standards
• Fire Officer requirements and Building Regulations

Scope of works

• Full strip-out of existing services
• Installation of new distribution board
• High- and low-level containment systems
• Complete data infrastructure and data points
• Electric panel heaters and towel radiators
• Lighting system with dimmable fittings
• Full fire alarm system with smoke detectors
• Power supplies for hand dryers and extract fans
• A/C unit, ventilation, and local power supplies
• Installation of access points
• Builder’s works to support M+E installations

Outcome

The project was delivered on programme and within budget, providing EvoDental with fully operational M+E systems supporting clinical laboratory and office environments. Fire alarm, lighting, HVAC, and data infrastructure were all installed to the highest standards of compliance, safety, and reliability.

The project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex technical systems within controlled clinical environments, manage fast-track programmes, and integrate multiple services seamlessly while supporting precision-driven operations.
