Yesterday, The Consortia Group hosted a fantastic Macmillan Coffee Morning filled with sweet and savoury treats, competitive baking, and lots of generosity. We had a brilliant turnout of bakers—and a few fakers too (you know who you are!). Though some bakes didn’t even make it to the office, it was great to see people having a go.
To add a little spice to the morning, we had a judge who didn’t hold back. Barbara put everyone’s baking to the test with no room for excuses. If you thought Paul Hollywood was tough, you haven’t seen Barbara in action. She knew exactly what she liked—and what she didn’t.
Congratulations to our star baker, Paula Cornes, our Business Support Manager, for her Victoria sponge, proving that sometimes you just can’t beat the classics! A big well done to our runner-up, trainee accountant Leo, who wowed us with his delicious vegan banana bread.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity and a special shoutout to the business for adding another £100 to our already impressive £200 total, we are proud to announce we raised £300 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Not only did we get to indulge in some delicious cakes, but we also made a meaningful contribution to a fantastic cause.
Here’s to next year’s event—start perfecting those recipes!
