After two postponements due to high winds, the third time really was the charm as Team Consortia took to the water for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity Dragon Boat Regatta.
The wait proved to be well worth it, with glorious sunshine and perfect racing conditions creating the ideal setting for a fantastic day of fundraising, teamwork and community spirit.
As proud sponsors of the event, we were delighted to support The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity as this year’s regatta raised an incredible £52,000 to help improve the lives of patients and their families across the region.
The day perfectly reflected what The Consortia Group is all about. It was a true family affair, with colleagues joined by mums, sons, brothers and friends, while an army of supporters lined the banks to cheer everyone on. Some members of the team had signed up to paddle months in advance, while others who arrived expecting to spectate soon found themselves handed a paddle and climbing into a boat!
On the water, Team Consortia’s results improved with every race. After finishing third in our opening heat, we stepped up to second before ending the day on a high by taking first place in our final race. While we didn’t claim the overall title, finishing with a race win certainly felt like a victory for the team.
Events like this simply wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of everyone involved. We’d like to say a huge thank you to every member of Team Consortia who gave up their Saturday to paddle, support and raise funds for such an important cause. Your enthusiasm, encouragement and team spirit made the day one to remember.
We would also like to thank the team at The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity for organising another outstanding Dragon Boat Regatta. From start to finish, the event was expertly run, bringing together businesses from across the region to make a real difference while enjoying a memorable day on the water.
Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. Together, we’ve helped make a meaningful difference.
